Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds (HBHM) is an exercise and nutrition program designed to assist people with mental health issues increase physical activity and encourage healthier eating. The program aims to improve both physical and mental health as well as quality of life and self-esteem in a welcoming environment. Delivered by Allied Health professionals who can assist people with complex medical and or physical conditions, the program works towards improving mental and physical wellbeing to achieve a healthy lifestyle. The program is progressive and suitable for adults of all fitness levels. Nutrition sessions are engaging, with a focus on helping people find their own healthy balance. All program participants take part in a one-on-one assessment with an exercise physiologist and dietitian. Held over a period of 8 weeks, the program also incorporates weekly group sessions of up to six participants. Each session is made up of one-hour nutrition session with a dietitian and a one hour session with an exercise physiologist. At the end of the program the exercise physiologist will have another one-on-one session to make sure people are confident with the personalised program. Participants are also eligible for a three-month gym membership.
