Robert is a proud Ramindjeri man from South Australia, born on the ancestral lands of the Barngarla and Nukunu peoples in Port Augusta, and now living on Kaurna Country. As the founder and CEO of the not-for-profit charity organisation, the National Indigenous Network Initiative Ltd (NINI), Robert is deeply committed to empowering First Nations communities through culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based healing approaches.
With more than 25 years of experience across justice, housing and homelessness, and mental health, Robert has led programs across South Australia, the Northern Territory, and the APY Lands.
His vision is to transform trauma and improve mental health and social and emotional wellbeing by disrupting cycles of hurt and pain, and instead fostering self-care, healing, patience, meaning, purpose, and connection.
