Simone McCallum

Simone is an experienced GP who has always been passionate about advocating for equitable, holistic care for people living with mental illness. Her experience of leaving community General Practice to work as a Psychiatry HMO at Eastern Health inspired her to establish the Embedded GP Service within Eastern Health's Mental Health Services. It had become intuitive that patients with mental illness had significantly poorer health outcomes, and this is backed by substantial evidence. The Embedded GP Service aims to improve the health and wellbeing of our Mental Health Consumers in part by helping to reduce barriers to accessing holistic care.
