Thelma is the next Nurse Practitioner in South Australia Prison Health, building on the pioneering work of her colleagues and expanding the NP role to meet complex needs of incarcerated patients. With expertise in diabetes and other chronic disease management, she also brings strong clinical skills in mental health care. Thelma’s extensive knowledge in drug and alcohol management has been instrumental in supporting prisoners through recovery, including leading the Opioid Antagonist Therapy program. She also provides comprehensive care for patients living with hepatitis C, delivering evidence-based, holistic, and compassionate healthcare to improve outcomes and support rehabilitation within the prison system.
