Camilo is the Principal Advisor in Human Rights and Lived Experience at the Department of Health and Wellbeing in South Australia. His lived experience-designated role aims to incorporate the Human Rights and Lived Experience perspectives of the Departmental functions of the Mental Health Strategy and Planning Branch and the statutory work of the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist. For almost twenty years, Camilo’s work has focused on promoting social justice and human rights for disadvantaged groups impacted by social inequity, like people with mental health issues and their families.
