Holly Winchester is a Research Assistant and PhD student at the University of Newcastle. She is part of the Physical Health in Mental Illness research team (PHiMI), which investigates ways to reduce the health inequalities experienced by people living with a mental health condition by improving preventive care for health risk behaviours. Holly is particularly interested in addressing harmful alcohol consumption, poor nutrition, physical inactivity and smoking in ways that are appropriate and effective for people living with a mental health condition. Her PhD focuses on this area and is evaluating a co-developed, person-centred model of care for delivering preventive care within a community-managed organisation, Flourish Australia.
