Champions of Change: The Equally Well Achievement Awards
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2025 Equally Well Acknowledgement Awards!
These awards are an opportunity to formally recognise organisations, projects, initiatives and individuals who are making an impact on improving the physical health outcomes of people living with mental health challenges.

🏆Rebecca Helvig – Outstanding Individual Contribution
Outstanding contribution to improve the physical health of people living with mental health challenges through her work advocating on behalf of others and educating the sector of the Equally Well Framework.
🏆Mental Health Clinical Collaborative – Outstanding Team Effort
for their a statewide service-improvement initiative which addresses long-standing inequities in the physical health of people living with mental illness by applying collaborative quality-improvement methods.
🏆SiMPliCITy co-design and concept mapping team – Outstanding Co-design
This award acknowledges the co-design process undertaken to develop a peer-supported, digitally delivered tool to enable safer, easier self-care of physical health.
🏆Abiola Albert – Emerging Star
In recognition of achievements, contribution and research to implement and embed the Equally Well vision.
🏆Lancet Psychiatry Physical Health Commission Consortium – Research Impact Award
In recognition of the international contribution to physical and mental health research.
🏆Tackling Tobacco Team – Outstanding Partnership and Collaboration
Acknowledging outstanding impact and collaboration to create Cancer Council NSW’s “Tackling Tobacco program”
Award submissions were assessed on the criteria that supports the collective mission;
- to increase engagement with our network of supporters
- to raise awareness of activities and achievements that are making a difference in closing the life expectancy gap for people living with mental illness
- to inspire and motivate others to continue this work
- to inspire and motivate ongoing support for Equally Well across key stakeholders and partners.
